Japan disaster drives backup power demand, causing Lead shortage. Power Cuts in Japan Drive immediate demand for UPS systems, Backup generators and Batteries, to provide electricity to sub-stations, hospitals and emergency services. UPS demand expands lead shortage needed for battery production, which was expanding even before the disaster. The premium of lead for immediate delivery over benchmark three-month futures in London widened to as much as $44 a ton on March 29, more than three times the level on March 11 and the highest since Feb. 7, signaling a shortage of near-term supply. Emerson's UPS Registration in UK Enables to write off UPS cost in the year of Purchase. Emerson's Chloride 80-NET series of 60kVA to 500kVA stand Alone transformer less UPSs have been added to the Carbon Trust’s Energy Technology Product List (ETPL) registration. The ETPL registration, allows UK businesses to write off the whole cost of the equipment against taxable profits in the year of purchase. Lem Introduces new Battery monitor to supervise Online High Power UPS systems. LEM introduces Sentinel 3+ UPS Battery monitor, which measures voltage, temperature and impedance, of cells and complete batteries, in UPS installations. The monitor is designed for supervising VRLA (valve-regulated lead-acid), gel or flooded stationary batteries, while there are in service, identifying weak and failing cells without the need to remove them from service for cycling tests. Emerson introduces 208V Modular UPS systems for 45kW and 90kW Power Levels. Emerson Network Power, introduced the Liebert APM, Online Modular 45kW and 90kW three phase 208 V UPS frames, for North and South American market. The systems allow UPS scaling for capacity or redundancy with 15kW hot swappable modules. The UPS feature 94% efficiency from 50% to 100% load, input voltages selection of 208V, 480V or 600V, with 208V output, raised or non-raised floor applications, internal batteries in 45KW UPS frame, and matching battery cabinet for 90kW frame. VYCON and Emerson Partner to Distribute Vycon's Flywheel Storage Systems. Vycon and Emerson announce a strategic partnership to distribute VYCON'S clean energy VDC and VDC-XE flywheel systems with Emerson's Liebert branded UPS systems.
