Power transistor revenues, led by MOSFET and IGBT products, reached US$10 billion for the

GE Suggests Efficient UPS Solutions for High Power IT Industry Requirements
GE Digital Energy announced that its 750kVA SG Series Digital Energy UPS system has been
certified as an ecomagination product. SG series Double Conversion UPS systems are offered
as 10KVA to 750KVA modules, enabling parallel redundant N+1 operation. At a typical 50
percent load, GE’s 750kVA UPS achieves efficiency of 94%. Ten such systems, according to
GE lower total power required to operate and cool a data center by 90 to 150kW, compared to
competition.

According to University of Michigan research, average utilization of typical data center is 20 to
30 percent. Thus, putting idle servers to sleep when they're not in use could save up 75% of
data center energy. The plan also suggests replacing existing 2250 Watt power supply feeding
about blade computers, to a bunch of smaller 500Watt power supplies, successively turned on
